The Strange Realities Conference is returning September 25th and 26th 2024, this time as an online streaming experience for everyone! We had a blast in Nashville last year, saw some fascinating presentations, and made some new friends, but our uncertain times demand an alternative this year. On the positive side, this will allow more people than ever to attend and has let us build a huge lineup of speakers! We’ll feature presentations by some of the best minds in the field of the Paranormal, Ufology, Cryptozoology, Occultism and Conspiracy research in the world today. The speakers include Brent Raynes, Tim Binnall, Aaron Gulyas, Guy Malone, Allen Greenfield, Timothy Renner, Dr. Future, and some others to be announced.

We will hold this event online the Evening of Friday September 25th, and all day on both Saturday and Sunday September 26th and 27th.

Brent Raynes is the editor of the online monthly magazine Alternate Perceptions (apmagazine.info) which he initially began as a small print newsletter called ParaUfology Forum back in 1985. Brent became involved in the study of the UFO phenomenon at age 14, back in January 1967, shortly after reading Frank Edwards’ book Flying Saucers-Serious Business. Although his ufological journey initially was aligned with the mainstream “nuts and bolts ET” perspective, it wasn’t long before he began to give serious consideration to alternative theories that included the paranormal. Brent began a correspondence with John Keel in October 1969, and was so impressed with his alternative approach, ideas and field work as described in his articles and books, that back around the mid-1970s Brent spent many weeks and practically the entire summer of 1975 traveling through many states from Maine to Florida to interview dozens of experiencers and researchers firsthand.   

Brent’s first book Visitors from Hidden Realms was published in 2004, his second book On The Edge of Reality in 2009, and his third and very recent book is, not surprisingly, entitled John A. Keel: The Man, The Myths, and the Ongoing Mysteries (2024).

Brent is a resident of Waynesboro, TN. Married with a daughter and two grandchildren and three step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren, he is retired from the Tennessee Department of Correction.

Since 2017, Aaron Gulyas has produced The Saucer Life, a podcast which explores the history, lore, and culture of flying saucer belief. Timothy Renner is an illustrator, author, and folk musician living in Pennsylvania. His illustrations have appeared in the pages of various books, magazines, fanzines and comics as well as on many record and CD covers. Since 1995, Timothy has been making music both solo and with his band, Stone Breath. Timothy is the creator of "Strange Familiars", a podcast concerning the paranormal, weird history, folklore and the occult. He makes regular appearances on the paranormal radio show, "Where Did the Road Go?", and has appeared as a guest on many other podcasts and radio programs, including "Coast to Coast AM".

Kiki Dombrowski is a spiritual researcher and explorer who has spent her life studying mythology, magic, witchcraft, and the supernatural. She lives in Nashville where she is a professional tarot card reader, certified life coach, and writer.

Kiki has worked with varying forms of divination, most notably tarot, which she began working with over 25 years ago. She is currently focused on studying tarot and how it can support spiritual transformation. In addition to tarot, Kiki is currently studying crystal healing, self-care techniques for witches and empaths, and high vibrational food. She is an avid traveler and deeply interested in sacred sites and how spirit of place can influence and inspire people.

Kiki has been a contributing writer for Witch Way Magazine for five years and works as a content specialist for the magazine. She has published two books. Eight Extraordinary Days explored the Witch’s Wheel of the Year through an examination of the magic and mythology of the seasons. She received her BA in English and Creative Writing from Southern Connecticut State University. She received her MA in Medieval English from the University of Nottingham.

In 1991, Greg Bishop co-founded a magazine called The Excluded Middle, which was a journal of UFOs, conspiracy research, psychedelia and new science. Wake Up Down There!, a collection of articles from the magazine, was published in 2000 by Adventures Unlimited Press.

Greg’s second book was Project Beta: The Story of Paul Bennewitz, National Security, and the Creation of a Modern UFO Myth which documented a government campaign of disinformation perpetrated against an unsuspecting U.S. citizen. Weird California, a portrait of strange and eerie history and places in the Golden State, was released in 2006. From December 2007 to November 2011, Greg blogged for the UFO and paranormal site Ufomystic. His current book It Defies Language is composed for the most part of entries from that blog along with older material and brand new articles written just for the collection.

For two years Greg hosted The Hungry Ghost, a radio show of interviews and music airing on pirate FM station KBLT in Los Angeles. His current show, Radio Misterioso can be heard at radiomisterioso.com, and podcasts are available for download. The site features interviews with researchers as well as scientists and academics who are involved in fringe topics.

He is licensed to fly aerial drones for commercial clients, and is also certified paraglider and ultralight pilot as well as holding a private pilot license.

Jenny Ashford is a horror, true crime, and paranormal writer, graphic designer, and podcaster. Her most recent books are a three-volume true crime compilation collectively known as The Faceless Villain: A Collection of the Eeriest Unsolved Murders of the Twentieth Century. Her other books include four paranormal nonfiction books. She also co-hosts a podcast with Tom Ross called 13 O'Clock, on which they discuss true crime, unexplained mysteries, paranormal weirdness, and other fun, creepy topics.

S. William Snider, aka Recluse, is the longtime curator of the VISUP blog (ssr飞机场推荐), where he has explored high strangeness and parapolitics in all their many forms for over a decade. More recently, he has branched out into books and podcasts. Most recently, he has issued the 30,000 word essay More Strange Tales: Hellier, the Lovecraft Gnosis, and Psychological Warfare in conjunction with the first Penny Royal release. Originally from South Carolina, Jack was born in 1953 in Columbia, South Carolina. He was raised United Methodist but left the church at age 15 over segregation of the races during worship. His family though Christian,  practiced elements of folk religions which he later came to learn stemmed from his maternal great-grandfather who was a Powwow Doctor who specialized in healing animals through sacred touch.  Jack was raised not to fear, but to accept the presence of spirits, dream interpretation and spiritual visions.

Jack earned his B.A. from the University of South Carolina in 1976 with a double major in Religious Studies and Psychology and a minor in Anthropology.  Jack earned his Masters of Library Science at the University of Maryland–College Park in 1987.  First, as a law librarian Jack worked in in academic law libraries in Virginia, Ohio, and Missouri. In 1998, he made the transition to the general academic library and to Western Kentucky University in 1998 where he is now a Professor/Collection Services Coordinator. 

As a spiritual person, Jack has been involved with traditional American shamanism since 1974 as a folklorist and practitioner of Powwow and Hoodoo shamanic traditions. He received training in Hoodoo from James E. McTeer, 1903-1979, and others and learned Powwow/Braucherei from Hexenmeister, Lee Raus Gandee, 1917-1998 who wrote Strange Experience: The Secrets of a Hexenmeister.  Their student/teacher relationship lasted from 1973-1977.

Jack went on to meet and learn from other Powwow doctors in Pennsylvania and mountain magic from an Appalachian granny women in south central Virginia.  His own practice has led him to speak since 1976 at events in Tennessee, Ohio, Missouri, Illinois, Georgia, North and South Carolina and even at institutions like Harvard University and as far afield as Pescara, Italy.

Jack also began studying guitar at age thirteen and played my first professional gig was in 1967.  He sings and plays guitar, harmonica, and Appalachian dulcimer. Musically, he is interested in pagan, Celtic and traditional folk music. Rev. Michael J. Carter is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. He moved to New York City in 1980 and lived there for 25 years, working as a professional actor before moving to Asheville with his family. Michael is an ordained Inter-faith minister and received his BA Degree in Letters from the College of New Rochelle where he graduated cum laude. He received his Masters Of Divinity Degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York City (class of 2000).While serving various Unitarian Universalist Congregations in New York, Michael was trained as an anti-racism trainer and has been recognized by President Clinton for his efforts. Michael was also a weekly columnist for the Asheville Citizen Times. Rev. Carter now serves as the minister for Unitarian Universalist Congregation of The Swannanoa Valley, in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.
Rev. Carter has written articles on UFOs and Religion for such publications as UFO Magazine, Alien Encounters ( A British Publication),The MUFON UFO Journal, Contact Forum, The S.P.A.C.E. Newsletter (Support Program for Abductees Contact Encounters) a UFO support group in New York City. He has spoken at UFO Conferences such as the ARE Ancient Mysteries Conference, The 2nd Philadelphia, Need To Know Conference, The Annual Long Island UFO Conference with Budd Hopkins, Contact In The Desert, and The International UFO Conference In Scottsdale Arizona. He has appeared on the Sci-Fi Channel’s  Steven Spielberg's production of Abduction Diaries, The Real 4400, and was a frequent guest on The History Channel’s production of Ancient Aliens, and UFO’s The Hidden Evidence which airs on The American Heroes Channel ( formally known as The Military Channel. The second season of the show airs on The Travel Channel this spring of 2024). He has also been interviewed by Academy Award winning actress Shirley MacLaine , George Noory's Coast to Coast AM, Beyond Belief on Gaia TV with George Noory, Late Night In The Desert with Heather Wade, and Coast to Coast AM with Jimmy Church. Recently, Rev. Carter spoke at the International UFO Conference in Arizona in February 2018. In April of 2018, Rev. Carter spoke to Alabama MUFON about Science, UFOs, and Religion.

J. Michael Bennett, Ph.D has a doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering, and served for sixteen years as a team leader in technology development at the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, as well operating his own successful consulting and technology development business as an inventor, having received over twenty four patents on personal inventions now used in the military, commercial and transportation industries, with his work profiled in the 免费ssr飞机场, Scientific American and television programs on CNN and PBS. Tony Kail is a cultural anthropologist, ethnographer and writer. Kail has been involved in research of magico-religious cultures for thirty years. His work has taken him from Vodou ceremonies in New Orleans to Haitian Botanicas in Harlem and Spirit churches in East Africa. He is a cultural consultant for local, state and federal medical and public safety agencies on issues related to cultural diversity, religious culture and transcultural communication.
